Founder & CEO, SOUNDS Academy | Musician | Educator | Advocate for Entrepreneurs in the Arts & Culture
Kirk Johnson is a musician, educator, and social change leader with a passion for empowering entrepreneurs—especially those in the arts and culture sector. As the Founder and CEO of Harmonic Partners, Kirk helps entrepreneurs who have big ideas but need strategic guidance to turn their vision into reality. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by creative professionals, he is committed to helping others navigate the complexities of building and scaling their businesses.
Before founding Harmonic Partners, Kirk’s journey began with the creation of SOUNDS Academy, a nonprofit music education organization. He founded SOUNDS Academy to bridge the gap in access to quality music education for underserved communities. Under his leadership, the organization provided over 73,000 lessons, awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships, and helped 100% of students in their SOLO program secure college scholarships.
Kirk’s experience with SOUNDS Academy has given him firsthand insight into the challenges entrepreneurs face, particularly in the arts. His journey has shown him the power of mentorship, guidance, and thoughtful strategy in achieving success—and it’s this knowledge that he now brings to Harmonic Partners. The driving force behind Kirk’s work is the desire to help others realize their potential and accomplish what they once thought was impossible. Kirk is on a mission to help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses, make lasting impacts, and fulfill their dreams.
Outside of his work, Kirk is an avid musician and enjoys attending concerts, performing, and writing music. He also has a passion for grilling, gardening, flying drones, and photography. A light hiker, he finds inspiration in nature. Kirk’s commitment to giving back is rooted in the example set by his parents, who dedicated their time to helping others in their community in Jamaica. Their generosity continues to shape Kirk’s personal and professional life today.
